“What should I study after high school?” – this question is currently driving many pupils in the Ulm area.Through the first open house afternoon of the THU, the prospective students could get to know the fields of study of the university on site and gain insights regarding their different personal interests.
In addition to expert advice from the present professors and lecturers of the Technical University Ulm, there were exciting exhibits to discover. Students of the field of mechanical engineering and mobility introduced their self-developed and built movement robot “Lady Bug”. At the booth of the study field “Economics and Production Technology”, visitors were able to gain their first experience in human-machine interaction with a robotic arm. The study at the THU is characterized by a high proportion of practical teaching. During guided tours of the university’s laboratories such as the Automotive Center or the Laboratory for Manufacturing Technology, the students were able to gain an impression of the high quality of the university’s practical teaching.
The prospective students also came to places that normally remain closed to visitors: The scientific director of the in-house information and media center led through the strictly secured server room at the university, where the entire data infrastructure of the university converges. Numerous prospective students of the University of Applied Sciences found themselves in the Prittwitzstraße campus and learned about a technical degree at the THU, which guarantees a future-proof education in the Ulm Innovation Region.
