The University of Albstadt-Sigmaringen achieves very good results in the four evaluated subject areas of the Life Sciences and Engineering Faculties in the current university ranking of the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE). They have each landed in several categories in the top group; The ranking will be published in excerpts on 7 May in the new ZEIT study guide 2019/20.

This year, a number of courses at the Faculty of Life Sciences in Sigmaringen (Pharmaceutical Engineering, Bioanalytics, Biomedical Sciences and Food, Nutrition, Hygiene) and the Faculty of Engineering in Albstadt (Mechanical Engineering, Material and Process Engineering and Textile and Clothing Technology) were evaluated. Top marks achieved the degree programs consistently in the category of contact to professional practice and support at the beginning of studies. In addition, the students rated the degree programs very often in the categories care by teacher, equipment, practical relevance or degrees in a very reasonable time. The equipment of the internship laboratories and the IT infrastructure also reached peak values.

The CHE University Ranking identifies student judgments as well as teaching and research facts. Each year, one third of the subjects are re-evaluated. With more than 150,000 surveyed students and more than 300 universities and (colleges), the ranking is considered to be the most comprehensive and detailed university comparison in German-speaking countries.
