Work is still underway, but on Wednesday, May 22, the time will come: The students of the degree program Industrial Engineering of the DHBW Heidenheim will present their concepts for new product ideas, which originated within the framework of the cross-sectoral market-oriented product development, starting at 2:15 pm.
How can cargo be better secured? That’s what the Smart Edge team is all about, and the MODELO group wants to help students find their career path. Both developments and two further product ideas will be presented by the students of the study program Industrial Engineering on May 22nd at the DHBW Heidenheim.
Coffee without electricity
Whether in college, in the car or while hiking – every coffee drinker had the desire for a fresh coffee in at least one of these situations. One solution to the problem was found in the group “goffee.” Students developed a portable coffee machine that does not require an external power source, so you can enjoy fresh coffee anywhere, all you need is the “goffee” coffee machine, water, and a capsule. At the push of a button, heat is generated and finally coffee. “Push, heat, drink – coffee can be that simple,” says project manager Axel Thurnhofer.
Safe Charge
The “Smart Edge” team has been working intensively on the topic of load securing. “Our goal was to develop an intelligent edge protection that monitors the correct securing of the load with built-in pressure measurement”, explain the project managers André Raabe and Florian Schröter. As soon as a lashing device loosens, the pressure applied to the edge protection changes. This change is transmitted to the driver via the integrated transmitter module. This allows him to react immediately and bring the load securing back to the safe starting condition.
role models for students
Students show what opportunities they have on the job market – this is the goal of the “MODELO” group. From their own experiences and from the public discourse, they have realized that role models are the hallmarks of later careers. “Children of economically successful parents are often also successful,” explains project leader Julius Bühre, which is why the six-person group designed the Internet platform www.vorbilder-modelo.de , The purpose of the website is to bring together schools and people who are scientifically, socially or economically successful – with the aim of showing pupils the diversity of their career paths.
Helping old people at the airport
At the airport there are often very long ways to the gate. Endurance is therefore required. However, some people can not afford these skills because of illness, old age, or disability. The TRAVIS group wants to make flying easier for this group of people. The project team developed an autonomous baggage and passenger transportation system for airports. “The transport system should drive passengers through a scan of their ticket autonomously to the gate and take the hand luggage directly,” explains project manager Philipp Wegmeth the procedure.
